This blog was down for the past 24h or so… a scheduled server maintenence turned into a disaster when the database backup got corrupted somehow. Fortunately another backup (made at the same time) was found and the database restored.
All’s well that ends well.

I’m extremelly happy about this but I doubt it will be the end of the struggle to keep Europe a sofware patent free zone.
The University of Porto has signed an agreement (in portuguese) with SUN Microsystems Portugal (Press Release). UP purchased 3 clusters with a total of 48 nodes (96 processors) and now, apparently has the first Campus Grid in Portugal.
